Enjoy walking around Derbyshire and the Peak District? Want a short break walking holiday, but don't want the hassle of figuring out the best walks? Book one of our fixed itinerary short break walking holidays and let us show you the best walks, the secret places, and the most famous sights.
With our fixed itinerary walking holidays, you simply decide which walk package you'd like to book and what day you'd like to start your break. All you then need to do is choose and book your own accommodation and arrange your own travel there by whatever means you prefer. Each package is centred on one of the major towns or villages in and around the Peak District, and many include free time for you to explore the area on your own.

Your guide will meet you each day at the start point of your walk, which will usually be in the centre of town or easily accessible from there by public transport. Each walk will end either back at the start point or at a location that is served by public transport back to the centre of town.
Most of our walk packages are available year round (weather permitting), and offer a great way to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Derbyshire and the Peak District National Park. Many also offer the chance to learn about the often world-changing history of the area and some of the interesting characters involved. With over 25 years experience of leading guided walks around the area, our guides know all of the best places, the most interesting stories, and really can bring the story of Derbyshire and the Peak District to life. The majority of our walk packages are easily accessible by public transport from many of the towns and cities surrounding the Peak District, making them ideal for those concerned about the environmental impact of their holiday. |

Available Walk Packages
Buxton to Derby (Booking Ref: FWW01A)
This five-day walking break begins in the highest market town in England, and follows the former route of the most scenic railway in England through the heart of the Peak District National Park to Bakewell and the magnificent Chatsworth House. Exiting the National Park, it follows the Derwent past ancient stone circles to the spa towns of Matlock and Matlock Bath. It then passes through the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, which commemorates the area's key role in the birth of the Industrial Revolution and includes the world's first factory at Cromford Mill, ending at the Silk Mill and the statue of Bonnie Prince Charlie in the centre of Derby.
Day 1: Buxton to Bakewell via the Monsal Trail (13 miles).
The start and end points of each day's walks are easily accessible via the High Peak Buses "Transpeak" bus service, while the Matlock to Derby section is also accessible via the hourly East Midlands Trains service. In order to minimise travel times, we recommend looking at accommodation in the Matlock, Matlock Bath and Rowsley areas.
Buxton to Derby (Booking Ref: FWW01B)
As above, but only four days as does not include the free day (day 3 above).
Day 1: Buxton to Bakewell via the Monsal Trail (13 miles). Bakewell and the southern Peak District (Booking Ref: FWW02A)
This five-day walking break is centred on the popular tourist town of Bakewell, home to the famous Pudding. Over the five days, the various walks explore the many interesting locations to be found within just a few miles of the town. These include Chatsworth Park, Haddon Hall, the famous viewpoint at Monsal Head, the ancient stone circle of Nine Ladies, the beautiful Lathkill Dale and many more.
Day 1: Palaces and Puddings (circular walk from Bakewell to Chatsworth, 10 miles).
As all of these walks are based in and around Bakewell, we recommend that you book accommodation in or close to the town. Please note that, between October and February inclusive, we are not able to accept a Saturday start date due to the path through Lathkill Dale being closed on Wednesdays.
Bakewell and the southern Peak District (Booking Ref: FWW02B)
As above, but only four days as does not include the free day (day 4 above).
Day 1: Palaces and Puddings (circular walk from Bakewell to Chatsworth, 10 miles).
(No Sunday starts between October and February inclusive due to the closure of the path through Lathkill Dale on Wednesdays.)

The cost of a fixed itinerary walking break is as follows:
£100.00 per person (Adults and children aged 16 and over).
The cost of each booking includes a 15% non-refundable deposit. Please note that a supplement of £50.00 applies to single bookings for all breaks. Please also note that the above cost does not include any accommodation or travel, and it is your responsibility to make all necessary arrangements for yourself.

| If you would like to book a walking holiday with us, please contact us to enquire as to the availability of your planned dates. The walking calendar below indicates when we have guides available, which as a rough guide is any time except where the calendar says either "unavailable" or "unavailable for private bookings". Even if the calendar is listing a scheduled walk for a certain date, we still have a guide available unless the date in question also says "unavailable for private bookings". | |||
| Once we have received your booking request, we will let you know within 24-72 hours if we can accept your booking, and send you information on how to pay. Our preferred payment method is online via PayPal, but we can also arrange alternative payment methods if required. Once we have received cleared payment from you, we will then send your booking confirmation and all other information you require. |

| While we cannot book accommodation or travel for you, we can advise you on your options, so please don't hesitate to contact us before booking if you need any advice as to the best place to stay for your planned walks or how to get to and from the walks. Due to the time needed to arrange and confirm your bookings, please contact us at least 7 days ahead of the intended start of your booking, but the further ahead you can contact us, the better. | |||
