The Vale of Edale and Kinder Scout
Nestling in the shadow of Kinder Scout, one of the Peak District's two peaks officially classed as mountains, the village of Edale is the start point of the Pennine Way long-distance footpath. Kinder Scout was also the site of the "Mass Trespass" in 1932, an important watershed event in the long campaign to open up public access to the British countryside.
