Derbyshire Scenes is the photographic arm of Derbyshire Heritage Walks. In addition to being an experienced historian and guide, Adrian Brown, founder and owner of Derbyshire Heritage Walks, is also a photographer of many years experience.

The Derbyshire Heritage Walks website contains many examples of Adrian's work, and he has now decided to offer a selection of his best photographs for sale via the website. These are printed on high-quality paper by a professional photographic laboratory, and are available in a range of sizes from small postcard size all the way up to large format poster-sized prints.

Media Work

Adrian Brown of Derbyshire Heritage Walks is available as a media spokesperson and specialist historical or technical adviser. While working as a senior guide at Cromford Mill, he was involved in the production of a number of major TV programmes including the first series of Restoration and What The Industrial Revolution Did For Us. On these, he acted as a historical and technical adviser on Cromford Mill and cotton spinning. He also participated in numerous media interviews, including for live broadcast media.

More recently, Adrian has been involved in other media work, including giving listeners of BBC Radio Derby's breakfast show a preview of his Belper's Wartime Secret walk via a number of live interview segments during the show.

Adrian is available as a spokesperson or adviser on a number of subjects including:

  • Sir Richard Arkwright and Cromford Mill.
  • The Midland Railway's line from Derby to Manchester.
  • The industrial heritage of the Derwent Valley.
  • Long-term unemployment and starting your own business.
Adrian can be contacted directly by e-mail at
enquiries@derbysheritagewalks.com. Please be aware that as Adrian also works as both a guide and a photographer, and is often out "in the field" during the day, he may not always be able to reply to your e-mail immediately, but you should receive a reply within 48 hours.
